How it works

Answer, review, save.

A guided questionnaire that turns scattered information into one printable folder, without sending any of it to us.

1. See the example first

The Hartley household is a complete, fictional folder. Read the emergency first page: that is the page everything else exists for.

2. Answer in short sections

Eight sections, each with a few questions and a one-line explanation. Every question can be skipped. Every answer has a maximum length so the folder stays readable. Start with “People to call”.

Nothing is uploaded while you type. The page keeps your answers in memory, and only if you tick “Remember my answers on this device” does your browser keep them between visits.

3. Confirm the emergency first page

The organizer gathers the essentials from your answers (first calls, where to look, keys, dependants, doctor, care documents, online-account instructions) into one page. You read it and tick a box to include it. It is never included without your confirmation.

4. Review the preview

The preview shows only what you answered. Empty fields disappear; empty sections are listed under “What is still missing”. Nothing is filled in for you.

5. Save the PDF

The PDF is built in your browser, on your device, and handed to your browser’s download. Choose A4 or US Letter and, if you like, large print. A free preview copy carries a “preview” mark on every page; the Guided Organizer removes it.

6. Keep an answers file

“Save my answers file” downloads a plain file with your answers. Load it next year, change what changed, export again. The file is not encrypted on purpose: there is no password to forget and nothing for us to recover. Keep it with your other private documents.

7. Tell one person

Print the folder, put it where your private papers live, and tell the person named on the cover. That last step is the one most folders never get.

Practical questions

Which browsers work?
Current versions of Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a computer, tablet or phone. The PDF is built in the browser, so a very old browser may not manage it; the free preview tells you straight away.
Can I do it over several evenings?
Yes. Either tick “Remember my answers on this device” (your browser keeps them) or save an answers file at the end of each sitting and load it next time.
Can two of us fill it in together?
Yes. The folder is per household. Sit together, or pass the answers file between you by whatever private means you already use.
What about a second household, for example my parents and us?
Each household is its own folder. Save a separate answers file for each. The Guided Organizer unlock is per device and per purchase; for a second household on the same device no second purchase is needed.
